Thanks for sharing a beautiful First Day Hike! I’m amazed how similar the tones are in Texas compared to here in New Brunswick (photos of my FDH were what illustrated today’s post). But no spider egg sacs, thankfully. 😅

Yes! I did a first day hike in Central Florida (Wekiwa Springs State Park). I didn’t know there was a name for it, been doing a hike on New Years the last few years.

Did you hear any Bobwhite Quail? When I was a child living 7 miles north of downtown Dallas I would lie in my window and listen to them. I wanted to photograph them for a class but Archer County is the closest they are to DFW Metroplex. I was referred to this state park to find them and a place to stay.
